Hey everyone, Happy Holidays!
Moon Music is playing just one more show this year. We’ve been working on an all-original set, and after last night’s rehearsal I’m extra excited about it! Our rhythm section, John Craig (bass) and Tyson Stubelek (drums), have been fixtures for a little while now, so the music is starting to feel a bit more “lived in.”
The show is Saturday, 12/14 at 8:00 pm at Kelly’s Olympian, splitting the bill with the Chris Juhlin Project, an awesome American / Soul band. Here are details:
And:
Moon Music now has its own official, dedicated YouTube channel. Don’t forget to like and subscribe!
I’ve created anotherYouTube channel for purely guitar oriented projects and experiments. Don’t forget to like and subscribe!
If you have been following my existing YouTube channel, but really only wanted to see guitar or music based stuff … then don’t forget to unsubscribe! That channel is now purely personal, featuring vlogs, vacations, lunches, cool locations, and other random ephemera. It’s been a long journey to the huge milestone of ONE HUNDRED SUBSCRIBERS, so now that I’m a seasoned YouTube Professional, I’m rethinking and upgrading how I use the platform. I’ve also realized that we’ve all crossed a line, and those paying attention ought to consider YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and all other “social media” as good old fashioned Paid Advertising. Every single one of those platforms encourages you to throw in cold hard cash in exchange for showing your stuff to more people, which is a vastly different landscape than the one we all fell for back in the day, when these platforms were new. I’m not a hundred percent sure how this new perspective will affect my activities sharing online, whether for personal or professional reasons … but one thing is sure, even Substack is a Pyramid Scheme when you stop to think about it! Watching the Commercial Internet unfold in the 21st century, when we all expect to find valuable online activities that cost us $0, is increasingly strange and surreal. If you ever wonder why I’m not posting often - not even here - this paragraph ought to shed some light on that.
So, before I sign off, here are some great films I’ve watched recently, which I would highly recommend. If you have seen any of these, please speak up so we can compare viewing notes! All hail the Mighty Cinema. See you guys soon!
