Dub Party!
Dub Orquestra VS Mikey Dub LIVE August 9th; Moon Music in Eugene tomorrow (Thursday) w/ Neighbors
Join us this Saturday for some live Dub and Jazz! We are playing at the Starday Tavern, a small, long narrow bar, and bringing some ridiculously powerful custom speakers courtesy of The Impact Sound. Don’t worry, I have only rented their small stack - and yes, I believe it will fit on the stage with the band. Just barely. Mikey Dub assures me that live Reggae music only really … lives if you have some kind of subwoofer. I believe him.
For this show I’ll be playing trio style with Jon Shaw on bass and Tyson Stubelek on drums. Mikey Dub will be opening with a set of live dub mixing, and then sitting in with us during portions of our set. We’ll play some tunes from my new studio recording, which will be available on Bandcamp the same day. For now you can listen to one track. Here is the link:
I have worked fairly hard this year to move Dub Orquestra into the next stage: more ready for booking, promotion, and collaboration with great artists like Mikey Dub, singers from the local reggae community, horn players, rappers … I think at this point, the foundation is pretty solid, and the next year of growth and activity will be even more exciting!!!
Thanks for checking it out everybody, hope to see you at the Starday on Saturday!
Also if you are in Eugene: come out tomorrow night (Thursday) to catch Moon Music - we are playing at Sam Bond’s garage, a split bill with avant-jazz-rockers Neighbors - a favorite power trio of ours. We will be premiering one brand new song which will be on our new album … which we are recording in three weeks!!!!!

Because you wrote,
“Mikey Dub assures me that live Reggae music only really … lives if you have some kind of subwoofer. I believe him.”
I’m now listening to the videos on the old speakers in the living room. Not subwoofers, but solid 12” woofers. Love both of the songs from the Vimeo vids! So much going on.
Love the images, especially the “poster.” Wait, is it actually a poster, as in I could buy one to decorate my studio/BR?
